IMPROVISE LIKE A SCREENWRITER | STORYTELLING DEVICES
Screenwriters don’t just tell stories. We create worlds and manipulate characters in a ways that are designed to draw an audience in, gain their trust, and make them feel.
In this workshop, we will introduce storytelling devices that screenwriters use to make their stories memorable and exciting. We’ll learn how screenwriters make the most of their dialogue, plant ideas in the audience’s heads, and use actions and emotions to say what words can’t. Once we understand these devices, we can begin to use them to our advantage to craft rich, dynamic stories that an audience loves to watch.
