COMEDY CLASSES IN ENGLISH
Our students are engineers, musicians, designers, students, actors, athletes, writers, and more, from both Finland and abroad. Many of our students perform with YesFinland in an Ensemble, a House Team, or for private functions, and still more students perform on any of the dozens of improv teams in Tampere and across Finland.
The core of what we teach lies in the YesFinland Improv Program, a 3-Tiered Structure that offers courses for players of all type of experience. However, we also run regular drop-in classes, give free jams, and offer workshops from local and international teachers.
Take a look at The Improv Program below. Check out our Calendar to find out what courses are coming up, and contact us if you have any questions!
If you’re looking to get into improvisation, this is where you start. Designed for beginners, these courses may be taken in any order, and develop the fundamental skills needed for improvisation. Once you have taken both of our Fundamental Courses, students may advance to the Development Courses.
The Development Courses provide an opportunity to continue to develop your skills. These courses can be taken in any order, and are perfect for someone who has completed the Fundamentals Courses, or who has at least one year of previous improv experience outside of YesFinland.
Development courses are divided into two categories: Longform Development & Shortform Development. Students who complete a minimum of two courses in a single category may advance to the Performance Courses.

Once their skills are developed, students can take one of our Performance Courses. These courses use the skills developed in earlier classes and refine them, preparing students to take the stage. Each course focuses on a different style of performance, and teaches students the structure and elements necessary to perform in each style.
Performance Courses are intended for students who have taken a minimum of two Development Courses, or improvisers who have a minimum of 2 years experience performing.
